Naturopathy – a natural approach to healing
The popularity of Natuorpathy, or Naturopathic Medicine, as it is sometimes known, has grown enormously in recent years. The reason it has grown so quickly is because of its effectiveness, and it just, makes good common sense. Treating the reason why the body has become sick (which is the Naturopaths focus) not just the symptoms (which is often the modern approach), sits well with most people as a more intelligent mode of cure. Many of the conditions treated by medical practitioners can be safely and effectively treated by following naturopathic therapy.
These therapies being: NUTRITION, HERBAL MEDICINE, HOMEOPATHY, PHYSICAL MEDICINE and COUNSELLING/LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION.
Eg. Essential Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) is one of the most common conditions treated by modern medical practitioners. Naturopathy is a perfect choice of medicine to choose here, as the use of Diet, Lifestlye modification and Herbal Medicines attacks the cause of high bllod pressure
The therapeutic approach of Naturopathy is 2 fold. 1. to help patients heal themselves and prevent poor health. However, most come when they are already sick, not too many when they are healthy. And 2. to guide, teach and educate the patient towards leading a healthier, more vital, lifestyle.
Naturopathy is a vital medicine, ever changing but always based on solid principles. The approach is to discover and eliminate the cause of disease, and when necessary, use the most non invasive and natural approach available. A Naturopath considers themselves ‘ a healer’, and providing empathy to his/her patient comes naturally. The individual is the focus, with each person being treated with a unique approach beased on their history.
I consider it a privellege to be a Naturopath,an occupation, a calling towards the thing I was put on this earth to do. It is a trememdous feeling to know your job provides much benefit to the lives of people you treat. If I can help you lead a healthier lifestyle it would be my pleasure.
