Your Mind – the power to do the extraordinary
Your beliefs, whether they be good or bad, create and affect your reality.
If a belief is positive, for example, ‘I’m a people person, I get on well with everyone’ – there’s a good chance you will, and enjoy fruitful relationships with many . But dysfunctional beliefs can be very destructive, and it’s important to examine your own beliefs and make sure they have you pointed in the right direction.
There’s a story about a railway worker which demonstrates the destructive power of the mind, and what can happen if it’s been feed a negative belief. This railway worker’s greatest fear was to be locked in one of the many refrigerated cars he worked on. He was sure this would result in him freezing to death. Well sure enough one day he was locked in one of these cars. He penned a letter to his daughter from the car, saying he always dreaded this would be how he died.Unfortunately, the poor man died. The next day, the coroner examined the man’s body and stated he had frozen to death, just as railway worker believed he would. There’s only one problem, the refrigerated car he was in wasn’t on that night.
The railway worker simply froze to death because he believed this would occur.
If you believe something will occur, a whole range of possibilities and opportunities open up for this to happen. On the flip side, if you believe it won’t happen, chances are it won’t. The easier you think something is able to be achieved, the easier it will happen.
